Does Aid To Rebuild After Hurricane Sandy Constitute “Moral Hazard”?

An article put up on November 26, 2012, discusses the morality or ethics of rebuilding in areas devastated by natural disasters that are likely to be devastated again. This article uses the Jersey Shore, and the recent damages caused by Hurricane Sandy as an example of this. This article speaks to the growing debate on whether the eastern coast areas affected by hurricane sandy or other areas affected in this way should receive the government funding to rebuild. This is a very difficult moral decision, and it really is a losing situation in any aspect. The locals to these areas may lose the place where they may have grown up, or more government funding may continue to be put towards rebuilding areas such as this.
