Sexual Misconduct PolicySUNYIT is committed to maintaining an environment in which students, faculty, staff and guests can work together free of all forms of harassment, exploitation and intimidation. Refer to the college policy on this subject for additional information. SUNYIT will take action as needed to discourage, prevent, correct and, if necessary, discipline behavior that violates this standard of conduct. Disciplinary Action
Faculty and staff accused of violations of the above policy receive hearings and are subject to discipline under the provisions of the applicable collectively negotiated agreements (see Personnel Policies and Procedures). They may be subject to criminal prosecution under the New York State Penal Law as well. Allegations of sexual assault or rape should be reported to the Office of University Police (ext. 111). Allegations of sexual harassment should be reported to the Personnel Office (ext. 7191). Students may wish to consult with the Vice President for Student Affairs (ext. 7505).
