Major: Sociology and Community and Behavioral Health

About me:
I was born and raised in the Bronx, when I was growing up I did not know that college was an option, especially being raised in a West Indian home where education is highly valued. Growing up, listening to my family’s stories about their own experiences in college, I knew that going away and making my own memories was the route that I wanted to take, and I am very happy that I held through with that decision. My family always instilled values in me about how well hard work pays off, and they were right. In my time in college, I have worked very hard for the things that I have achieved and I would not change anything that I have done. I cannot wait to share my own experiences of the last four years with my own children in the hopes that they will choose a similar path for themselves.

Where do you see yourself after SUNYIT?
Pursuing a career in Higher Education and Student Activities

What has been your greatest accomplishment thus in this position?
Hearing my residents say “I’m so happy you’re my RA”

What do you think is essential for being a Residence Life Staff member at SUNYIT?
Knowing when to ask for help, and that you have some of the world’s most supportive people standing behind you.
