About me:
I was born and raised in the Bronx, New York, in a Mexican-American culture.  I am proud to say in my family, I have a younger brother going to SUNY Maritime and an older sister in Mexico; my father, who is a plumber, as well as my amazing mother, who is a stay at home mom, emigrated here in pursue of a better life for themselves and their family.  I am currently part of the first generation of my family who is born in the United States as well as the first generation overall of my whole family who has been able to complete high school and go to college to pursue a degree.  I am here to make them and myself proud and to continue bringing a better life for my family.

Where do you see yourself after SUNYIT?
I hope to be able to obtain a job in alternative energy tied to something more eco-friendly.  I would love to be able to work at ConEd and learn about how solar panels help not only the individuals but also the company and the rest of the world.

What has been your greatest accomplishment thus far in this position?
Being an RA has its' challenges and so far my greatest accomplishment has been to maintain a respectable relationship with all of my residents and continue having an adequate grade in my classes, balancing 20 credits, homework, RA related things, and a loving relationship.

What do you think is essential for being a Residence Life Staff member at SUNYIT?
A Res Life staff member has to have time management skills to balance out all of his/her priorities and have time for everything needed.  It is important to not take certain things too personal and other things not too lightly; we need to know when to take action and to not stress over the little or big things, because everyone in the Res life staff is family and we all got each other’s backs.
