About me:
I am in my Junior Year of college. I am originally from the Bronx, NY. I am of Mexican American descent and I can speak both Spanish and English. I am also a Senator for the Student Association. This is my second year being a Senator. I have enjoyed being at SUNYIT and this is one of the reasons why I became an RA, to be able to help the new incoming students get adjusted to college life in general.

Where do you see yourself after SUNYIT?
Hopefully, I will be working in my field. I hope to stay in N.Y. just because I have grown up here and I would love to continue being here. I want to work with cars mainly and hopefully I will be able to get a house sometime in the future.

What has been your greatest accomplishment thus far in this position?
Some of my greatest accomplishments in this position have been able to keep up with my residents and be able to connect with them in whatever they feel comfortable doing. I also feel that a great accomplishment has been my growth. I felt this job would overwhelm me in the beginning of the year, but as the year continued, I started seeing, I could handle it. It does take a bit more work and effort, but it can be done.  

What do you think is essential for being a Residence Life Staff member at SUNYIT?
The most essential part of being a Res. Life staff member at SUNYIT is being able to work with a lot of things at one single moment. Without this, a person can easily get overwhelmed by the position and by school work, not to mention clubs or organizations that the person might be a part of. If school work is messed up, it just creates a problem and it ends up affecting the way college life is lived out. Being able to set up everything just makes life easier and even helps the person be more responsible, something I can say, is truly the case.  Without these traits, being part of Res. Life would be extremely hard and not fun to do.
