Residential Life
Programming
One of the missions of the Residential Life and Housing Office is to demonstrate how a great deal of a students learning at college occurs outside of the classroom and in the Residence Halls. Residence Hall programming at SUNYIT is essential in developing a sense of belonging and respect within our residential community by helping students to acquire knowledge and skills, make informed and ethical choices, develop critical thinking skills, and assume responsibility.
Through the S.P.A.C.E. Model, the developmental needs of students will be addressed by creating more purposeful programs with measurable effects that address Sustainability, Physical Wellness, Academic Success, Community Service and Entertainment/Recreational. It is assumed programming activities around each of these categories, the students will gain a broader diversity of experience and become productive citizens in a global community.
This is done in partnership with the Student Affairs office, the Residential Life and Housing program supports the overall academic mission of the college.
