What is an inventory sheet and how is it used?

At the end of each semester/year Facilities inspects each suite and bedroom. They then bill the students for the damage that has occurred during the semester/year.

To protect you from being billed for damage that is not yours, or was there before you arrived, we ask you to fill out the Inventory Sheet. An Inventory Sheet provides you with an opportunity to document any imperfections that may be in your suite upon your arrival. This way Residential Life and Facilities will not hold you responsible.

Please Note: The Inventory Sheet does not excuse you for the damage that occurred during the time you occupied that room/suite.

General Tips

It is possible you will have no damage in your suite. However, if there is any, make a note of it on your Inventory Sheets.

Remember:

  • Make sure to be very specific about what you see. Give details like color, size, shape and location of damage. THIS IS FOR YOUR PROTECTION- so take the time to fill it out.
  • If there is an item on your Inventory Sheet that is not present in your room or suite, make sure that you document it's absence and bring it up to your RA.
  • Talk to your RA if there are any concerns or if you have questions.
  • Please Note: If you put a check mark in the "OK" column, it will be assumed that there is no damage to that item.

Who do I ask if I have any further questions?

If you have any questions or would like to report damages you can:

  • Fill out a request for repairs in Residential Life offices for maintenance
  • Speak with your Resident Advisor
  • Speak with the Hall Director or Director of College Housing

When is the inventory sheet due?
