What Should I Bring?
Your home away from home
There are a number of items that you can bring to make your new room feel more like home. Some of these items are:
- Linen and pillows. Mattresses are 80" long, 36" wide, and 6" deep.
Extra long twin sheets seem to fit best. - Mattress cover
- Towels
- Refrigerator (one 4.0 cubic feet or less refrigerator is permitted per student bedroom)
- Microwave OR microfridge (one microwave OR one microfridge is permitted per suite in the common room of Mohawk and Adirondack complexes.)
- Radio
- Family pictures
- Sports equipment
- Rain / snow gear
- Television
- Alarm clock
- Study lamp
- Posters
- Slippers
- Small fan
- Key chain
- Cleaning supplies
- Hair dryer and curling iron
- Personal hygiene items
- Laundry detergent
- Flashlight
- Desk supplies
- Overstuffed pillows
- Telephone and cable (telephone service is provided in each bedroom)
- U.L. approved electrical power strip with fuses or circuit breakers. Extension cords are not permitted.

- Air conditioners
- Beer balls or kegs
- Candles
- Ceiling fans
- Cooking appliances
- Dartboards
- Explosives
- Extra furniture (unless specifically approved)
- Firearms and other weapons
- Halogen torchiere lamps
- Hot plates
- Immersion heaters
- Incense
- Lofts
- Microwave (microwaves are NOT permitted in Oriskany as they are provided in suite kitchen areas.)
- Non-portable electrical appliances
- Open fires
- Potpourri burners
- Space heaters

Sending Trunks
Trunks may be sent to yourself at the address below. Make sure that all items you have shipped ahead are clearly marked with your name and address. You will be able to pick up any shipped items when you arrive on campus. Inquire at check-in about any items that you shipped.
