Degree Requirements

The general requirements for the B.S. degree in professional and technical communication ensure that students have a basic knowledge of mathematics, science, behavior/social science, computer science, and liberal arts. The required professional and technical communication course provide students with communication skills as well as theoretical background. The career and professional concentrations give students the expertise in a single field that an employer will expect.

Students complete different degree requirements depending upon their enrollment date. Students enrolling in the SUNY/CUNY system before fall 2000 complete the old program of study, which reflects the "old" general education requirements. Students enrolling in the SUNY/CUNY system in or after fall 2000 will complete the new program of study, which reflects the "new" general education requirements.
