Dr. Theodore Max

Theodore C. Max, M.D., is a retired surgeon and educator.
He is a graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine (M.D.), and earned a bachelor of science degree from Hobart College.
His hospital appointments have included the following:
- Senior surgeon, former chief of surgery, and past-president of medical staff at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, N.Y.
- Senior surgeon, former chief of surgery, past-president of medical staff, St. Luke's-Memorial Hospital, New Hartford, N.Y.
- Family practice residency program, chief, department of surgery, St. Elizabeth Hospital, Utica, N.Y.
- Consulting Surgeon, Marcy State Hospital, Marcy, N.Y.
He is a current or past member of a number of professional organizations, including the American College of Surgeons, New York State Department of Health Board for Professional Medical Conduct, Central New York Academy of Medicine, and the Medical Society of the State of New York.
He has held teaching appointments at the University of Rochester, where he was Senior Instructor in Surgery. He is also active as a facilitator and board member of the Mohawk Valley Institute for Learning in Retirement.
Dr. Max is the recipient of the American Medical Association's Physicians Recognition Award, and has been profiled in Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, and Who's Who in the World. He is the author of numerous research publications in his discipline, and has presented at medical and academic conferences across the country.
