Donald W. Hanson
Donald W. Hanson began his career with the Air Force in 1968 when he joined the Rome Air Development Center. He held a variety of assignments with progressive responsibility in both management and technical leadership positions, ending in the position of Director, Information Directorate, Air Force Research Laboratory, Rome, N.Y., which he assumed in May 2005 and held until his retirement on June 3, 2009. His principal technical work was conducted in the fields of photonics, radar and adaptive optics.
He has written or co-written more than 10 publications in these areas, and holds two patents with co-inventors. He holds several degrees, all in electrical engineering: a Ph.D. and M.S. from Syracuse University and a B.S. from Rochester Institute of Technology.
