The program is designed for students to complete the coursework in four years, taking 2 courses, 7-8 credits per semester.

Due to the program’s course sequencing, full-time is impractical. There might be a semester or two where full-time study is an option due to course offerings, but the entire program cannot be completed in this manner. We also bring our part-time program to Hudson Valley Community College where you may be able to take courses there as well. In addition, online courses are available.

Students must come to the Utica campus to complete one course (NUR 490), which is web enhanced. The course is offered in a variety of time slots during the academic year.

Prospective students who hold an associate’s degree or diploma with a major in nursing from an accredited program are admissible into the program. To apply, students should complete the SUNY Institute of Technology Application at www.sunyit.edu and have official transcripts from all previous colleges attended sent to our main campus : SUNYIT, Admissions Office, 100 Seymour Road, Utica, NY 13502.
How do I register for classes?
Although it is recommended that you attend an orientation session that we hold here on campus before the semester begins, we understand the distance and will assist you over the phone with the registration process.
Are graduate programs offered through the SUNY Ulster partnership?
Select graduate courses are also available at the Foundation for New York State Nurses Association, in Guilderland. We also offer post-master’s certificates in adult, family and gerontological nurse practitioner, nursing administration and nursing education. Courses are offered evenings, Saturdays, and on-line and can be completed on a part-time or full-time basis.
