A word from the President

                I am currently a faculty member at SUNY IT teaching in the undergraduate program. I have taught as a clinical instructor and worked as an emergency room nurse for a number of years.   I have also been president of the Iota Delta Chapter since 2006 and I have enjoyed every minute of it.

                 I realize that it is an honor to be invited to join the Nursing Honor Society, and for me this organization symbolizes the power of nurses within our community to join forces and achieve great things.  The opportunity to belong to an organization that emphasizes scholarship, and networking among nursing professionals within our local and internationally community is a wonderful advantage. This is our opportunity to be innovative, to connect with nurses around the world while also contributing to the knowledge and science of Nursing.  I encourage all members to be active, open minded, determine their interest and contribute to the local and global community of nursing as they see fit.  

One of my initiatives is to convert the Iota Delta chapter to a chapter at large.  This designation will allow us to induct intelligent, talented, and motivated Nurses from two other schools. In the end the Iota Delta chapter will be able to harness the intellectual resources of the following colleges, the SUNY Institute of Technology Department of Nursing and Health Professions, Utica College School of Nursing and Morrisville College of Nursing.  

This partnership will increase the collaborations among the colleges and will allow us to highlight the expertise of the nurse leaders within our community.  The Nursing professionals in our area are known for their contributions to the body of knowledge of the Discipline, their knowledge and combined efforts will also allows us to mentor the nursing leaders of the future, not only to highlight the discipline but to enhance the healthcare resources within our community.
