Kidwind Challenge:
The Kidwind Challenge was designed to allow students to design windmills to produce electricity. The school must bring in a completed turbine for each team that they enter. This year there will be two divisions, middle school and high school.
Turbines:
- Free standing
- Vertical or horizontal shafts
- Fit into a 48 x 48 wind tunnel
- Must use a competition generator provided by Kidwind
- Turbines can have any number of blades. The hub that Kidwind provides will hold 12.
- No metal blades
Teams- Any size, recommended 2-3
Teams must be registered at SUNYIT and at www.KIDWIND.org
Registrations close February 15th. Sooner they are registered at Kidwind the faster you will receive free materials to build with.
