Placing Material On Reserve (Faculty) | Borrowing Reserve Material (Students)
Borrowing Reserve Material
Information For Students:
- To borrow reserve material, students must present a valid SUNYCard
- To find out which items are on Reserve, users may search the library catalog by course number, course name, or instructor; users may also look in the Reserve Notebook, kept at the Reserve Desk, which is organized alphabetically by course number.
- Please give library staff your course name / number when asking for Reserve material.
- Students may request a maximum of 3 reserve items at any one time.
- Most reserve material may be borrowed for only two hours. Only selected items may be borrowed overnight, for 48 hours, or for one or two weeks.
- The loan period is indicated on the yellow book band attached to each item.
- Fines and holds will be applied to students' accounts for overdue Reserve material.

- Reserve items loaned for one day, two days, or one week are due back to the library by 10:00 a.m. on the due date. If the item(s) is returned after 10:00 a.m., a fine will be charged to your account.
- The Reserve Department also houses non-course related reserves such as the Wall Street Journal and permanent reserves. These items can be checked out for 2 hours with a valid SUNYCard, and they may not leave the library.
