Running an Application on Citrix
- Go to the Citrix login page and login with your SITNet ID.
- Locate the application you want to use. Most are located within folders by School or company (e.g. Arts & Sciences, Micrsoft).
- Double click on the application icon to start it. There will be a delay while the environment is set up. The length of the delay depends on the speed of your Internet connection and computer processor.
- The "Client File Security" window as shown below is presented. It contains the options for where to save your files.
Select the option "Full Access"
Select "Always ask me"
Click "Ok"
These steps set up your ability to save your files on your local computer devices (i.e. local hard drive, floppy drive, Flash drive, etc) and storage space on the college file server.
- Refer to the saving files instructions below when you are ready to save your file.
- When you are finished using the application, select "File/ Exit"
- Logoff Citrix.
Saving Files
The "Client File Security" window shown above is presented when an application on Citrix is opened. It determines your file saving permissions.
The "Full Access" option MUST be selected to save your file to your local computer and in your storage space on the college file server.In Citrix, the "My Documents" folder is your storage space on the college file server.
To save your file, select "File/ Save As".
Click on the Locations drop down box to browse for your local computer drives.
Your local storage locations are denoted with $ on 'Client'. For example the hard drive would be shown as C$ on ‘Client’ (C:).
