Network Access Control
Cisco Clean Access (CCA)
The SUNYIT network uses the Network Admission Control(NAC) agent to help ensure its overall security. NAC is required for all student connections and for faculty and staff wireless connections.
The CCA installs its software agent on the person's computer when they connect for the first time. After completing the installation, NAC verifies the overall level of critical updates from Microsoft, as well as the status of antivirus software updates.
Systems not meeting minimum criteria will be directed to the appropriate web page for assistance.
No access to the network will be granted until the system meets minimum security criteria.
NAC Requirements:
- Updated Microsoft critical updates/patches.
- Configure Microsoft critical patches to update automatically.
- Installation of approved antivirus software.
- Current antivirus definitions.
- Installation of approved anti-spyware software.
