Web Directory (public_html) Overview
Every SITNet ID holder has directory on the college server, called the SFS home directory, for saving files and e-mail. SITNet ID holders can also create a web directory within their SFS home directory to store files that are accessible on the Internet. The files can be web pages, image files, PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, Word documents and so forth.
Common uses of the SFS web directory include:
- Personal web pages.
- Mailing files are web links rather than as e-mail attachments takes up less space in the e-mail recipients mail box and does not not bog down the mail system.
- Giving Internet access to PowerPoint presentations rather than distributing handouts of them.
