SSH - File Transfer
Once successfully establishing an ssh connection, you can now securely transfer files, both send and recieve, from this single secure connection. From the ssh client file menu, click on Window and then New File Transfer as shown below:

This will spawn a new window like the one shown below. This new windows is divided by a vertical scroll bar. The left pane is your local machine (the client machine), and the right pane is the remote machine (the host or server in which you are connected to. ex. shell.sunyit.edu).

The easist way to transfer files from one pane to another is to use the mouse and drag-and-drop method. To do this all you need to do is highlight the files in which you would like to transfer, and then drag them to the other pane.
-
- To highlight a single file, just click on it.
- To highlight multiple consecutive files, click on the first file then hold down the shift key and then selcet the last file.
- To highlight multiple non-consecutive files, hold down the control key and then click each file you want to select for transfering..
Notes : - To highlight a single file, just click on it.
Below is a screen shot of what highlighted files look like.
Once all of the files are highlighted, put the mouse cursor over them and hold down the left button and drag them over to the other pane. This will copy each of the files to the other system.
