Web Directories in SFS

  • Store files that you want accessible via the Internet in the web directory under your SFS home directory. Create your Web Directory.


  • Files in the web directory need to be named with dashes or underscores to separate words instead of spaces (e.g. important-news.doc, important_news.doc or importantnews.doc). To access the file, enter the web address of http://people.sunyit.edu followed by ~ followed by the person's SITNet ID followed by a /filename.
    For example, the web address to the file important-news.doc in doej’s web directory is
    http://people.sunyit.edu/~doej/important-news.doc
