Instructions to Test Access

You will be able to complete these steps 24 hours after you activate your SITNet ID.


  1. Open your web browser.

  2. Navigate to the Webmail login page.  You can access it from Current Students, IT Services, Quick Links and (http://gmail.sunyit.edu)

  3. Login using your SITNet username and password.

  4. Click on the compose button located in the upper left corner.

  5. In the To: field, type Confirm-L@sunyit.edu

  6. In the Subject: field, type Orientation

  7. Type your name and major as the message (e.g. John Doe, Computer Science)

  8. Click Send Message

  9. Click the drop down arrow next to yourname@sunyit.edu in the upper right corner.

  10. Select sign out.

Contact the IT Services Help Desk if you do not get a confirmation message or if you have problems with Webmail.
