Computer Accounts & Access
SITNet ID An active SITNet ID is required to access these resources.
| ANGEL | Learning management system for online, hybrid and classroom courses. |
| Banner | Student information system (also called Banner Web and Campus Intranet). |
| Blogs | Personal blogs. |
| Citrix servers | Access to lab applications over the Internet. |
| Computer Labs | Login for many computer labs. |
| Interlibrary Loan | An electronic system used to process interlibrary loan requests. |
| Library Resources | Electronic indexing tools to search documents such as magazines, journals, newspapers, etc. |
| Network Resources | use the SITNet ID to authorize access. |
| Help Desk Resources | Online ticketing system. |
| Personal Workspace | User's personal file storage space on the college file server. Your personal workspace is "My Documents" folder on Citrix and lab computers that use the SITNet ID for the login. |
| Sympa Listserv | Email list manager. |
| Unix Systems | System for programming language compilers and instructional use of Oracle database. Host names are: shell.sunyit.edu, oracle.sunyit.edu, ampere.sunyit.edu. |
| Webmail | SUNYIT email -- used for official SUNYIT electronic communications. |
Banner
Banner accepts three items for the username: your SITNet username, your Social Security Number or your University number. The password is the same as your SITNet password, except that expires in Banner every 90 days. You are required to change it when you login to Banner with an expired password. Passwords changed in Banner take effect on all systems that use the SITNet ID at the top of the hour.
Computer Science Account
An activated SITNet ID is required to obtain a Computer Science account.
Turnitin Account
Instructor accounts provide access resources on the Turnitin site for setting up submission drop boxes for student papers, analysing paper individually and the other Plagiarism Prevention resources. Students use the class drop boxes to analyse work, for homework submissions, and access the research and resources tools on the web site.
Macintosh Account
Macintosh accounts provide access to the computers and lab resources located in the labs in G238 and 2147 Donovan Hall. These are special purpose labs used by several programs within the School of Arts & Sciences. Authorized lab users are issued a Macintosh computer account through the course professor.
