SITNet ID Activations

The SITNet ID holder is responsible for all activity from the account. To avoid use by anyone else, keep the password confidential, change it periodically and do not save it in e-mail clients or browsers.
  1. Click Banner


  2. Click OK in response to the warning about viewing pages over a secure connection. Note that depending on how your browsers is configured you may not get this message.


  3. Click Enter Secure Area


  4. On this login screen, all letters must be entered in UPPERCASE.
    User Id is your:
        - Social Security Number without the dashes,
        - University Number (9 character code begining with a capital letter printed on your SUNYCard),
        - SITNet username in UPPERCASE letters.
     
  5. PIN is your date of birth in the MMDDYY format.
    Click Login


  6. Enter your old PIN, your date of birth in the MMDDYY format.
    Create a new password (PIN) that is
    • EXACTLY 6 places long (no longer, no shorter),
    • contains at least 2 letters, capitalize one of them to make your password more secure,
    • contains at least 2 numbers, and
    • does NOT contain spaces or colons (:)
    Re-enter your new password.
    Click Login


  7. Create a security question and answer for your account. In the future, you must correctly answer your security question to change your password.
    Click Submit.


  8. Click Continue to accept the Terms of Usage.


  9. Your SITNet ID will be ready to use within an hour, and your Webmail account will be created in 24 hours. Webmail is used for official SUNYIT communications.

SITNet ID Problems


Report problems with your SITNet ID to ITS User Services by phone ext. 7440 or through a Help Desk ticket. Log in with the guest account (username and password is guest) if your SITNet ID does not allow you to log in.
