SFS and Web Directories (public_html)
SITNet ID account holders can create a web directory or folder to store files that are accessible from the web. The end user runs the setup4html command from the Unix command line to create the web directory, which will be named public_html, that will be located as a folder within his or her home directory.Files that are web accessible can be sent as web links within the body of email messages rather than as email attachments. Web links to files do not bog down the system or consume much space in the e-mail recipient's mail directory. They are used by Community Mailer to distribute files and web pages in collge e-mail. Committee members and department members can use web links to share files with colleagues rather than sending e-mail attachments. The public_html folder is also were personal web pages are located.
