SUNYIT uses the Lotus Domino system for email and calendaring. Accounts are created 24 hours after the SITNet ID is activated. All official SUNYIT electronic communications are sent to accounts on this system (i.e. sunyit.edu addresses).
Email is filtered for spam and viruses. Attachments that are
potentially damaging are removed. No filter is perfect or able to
protect against all types of problematic email. Therefore, common sense
and caution are needed when dealing with email messages.
The system is accessed with Webmail and the Lotes Notes client.
- Webmail is accessible to all users at http://webmail.sunyit.edu. For quick access, links are provided on Quick Links, Current Students and Faculty & Staff pages.
- The Lotus Notes client is
only available for faculty and staff computers.
Community mail delivers communications to
broad categories of users (e.g. students, faculty, staff).
The SYMPA listserv is also used by faculty and staff to create customized email lists for committees, groups and other special purposes.
The list of campus happenings are posted on the Events Calendar. Current and upcoming entries are displayed in the college home page.
