Mailman Options

Mailman features
  1. Email - A list of the email addresses you have permission to send to will appear here. If you do not have permission to send any, this column may not show up. Use the checkboxes to specify which email lists you would like to send the announcement to. The announcement will be sent to the email list within the next few minutes, regardless of any settings below. Please note that for each email list, the announcement will also be posted to an associated blog.
  2. Blogs - A list of the blogs that you have permission to post to will appear here. If you do not have permission to post to any group blogs, only your personal blog will appear. Use the checkboxes to specify which blogs you want to post the announcement to.
  3. Alternate Author - This field can be useful if you are sending an announcement on someone's behalf. If you would like the announcement to say it was sent by someone other than yourself, put the other person's username here. If you would like the announcement to say it was sent by you, leave it blank.
  4. Invalid Before and Invalid After - These will effect when the announcement appears in the blogs and in the twice weekly community mailers. If you set Invalid Before to 09/20/2007 and Invalid After to 09/27/2007, the announcement will only be visible in the blogs between those two dates. The announcement will also only appear in two community mailers - one on Monday, one on Thursday. The announcement will, however, be sent to any email lists checked above immediately, regardless of the invalid before and invalid after dates.
  5. Title - The title / subject of the announcement.
  6. Editor - This is where you type your announcement. The editor is similar to regular Word Processors.
