Troubleshooting Clean Access Agent
Cisco Clean Access Agent (CCNA) is a Network Admission Control (NAC) solution that controls access to the SUNYIT’s data network. All students using a wired/wireless network connection will be required to use CCNA.
Minimum Requirements
Windows 2000 / Service Pack 4
Windows XP / Service pack 2
Windows Vista
Macintosh / Mac OS X Version 10.4.10
Windows Update errors
When you run Windows Update, you get a message stating that the product key used to install windows is invalid.
• Windows update will fail if your Windows OS is not properly licensed. You must have a legal copy of the operating system to connect to the SUNYIT network
Revocation Error
If you are experiencing Internet Explorer revocation errors, follow the procedure below:
Open Internet Explorer.
Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
Click on the Advanced Tab.
Scroll down to the Security section.

Uncheck the options referencing “Certificate Revocation”.
Click the OK Button.
Exit all Internet Explorer sessions and restart the application.
Reset your Internet Security settings
Modifying your internet security settings can cause errors with anti-virus updates and CCAA operation. To reset your internet security settings, use the following instructions.
IE 6
Open Internet Explorer 6.
Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.

Click on the Delete Cookies, Delete Files and Clear History buttons.
Click the OK button for each process when complete.
Click the OK button to close the options box.
Close and restart Internet Explorer 6.
IE 7
Open Internet Explorer 7.
Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.

Click on the Delete button located in the Browsing History section.

Click on the Delete Files, Delete Cookies and Delete History buttons.
Click the Close Button.
Close and restart Internet Explorer 7
Windows XP64 bit Operating System
The 64 bit version of windows is not compatible with the Clean Access Agent. The compatibility mode has to be enabled on the agent.
The CCA Agent is located in the C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\Clean Access Agent folder.
Right click on the CCAAgent.exe file and select Properties.

Check the Run this program in compatibility mode for:
and select Windows XP from the list of available operating systems.
Click the OK button.
The agent should now function.
Firewall Issues
There are many firewall applications available. Most of them will prompt you to allow the Clean Access Agent to install/function on your computer. If you are unable to install the agent or the agent will not allow you to access the network you will need to check your security settings
