Health and Wellness
The Health and Wellness Center at SUNYIT is located in the Campus Center and provides ongoing basic health care. The staff also fosters the development of health awareness among all students. Registered nurses treat routine illnesses and apply first-aid on a daily basis.
The Health and Wellness Center is open Monday through Friday. The hours of service are posted each semester.
Health Facts
All students must provide SUNYIT with the following:
- Health history
- Physical examination
- Proof of immunity against measles, mumps, and rubella *
- Tuberculin test in the past year
- If tuberculin test is positive, results of chest x-ray, including date and place of examination
- Administration of tetanus or tetanus/diphtheria (Td) toxoid within the past ten (10) years
All students who attend SUNYIT pay a health fee for the campus health services. Most on-campus health services are provided free of charge for all students.
All international students must pay an International Health Insurance Fee of $994.75 per year, which enrolls the student in HTH Worldwide Insurance. This charge is part of mandatory fees and is mandated for all international students attending any SUNY institution. This insurance provides international students with access to health care anywhere in the US. In addition, it enables international students to access health care in the local community during the hours that the Health Center is not open. Coverage is also available for dependents.
