Integrate

One of the goals of a university education is to integrate and unify: to integrate discrete courses and subjects into a coherent body of knowledge and worldview and, more signficantly, to integrate one's college experience with one's own intellectual development, personal goals, and professional ambitions.

The culmination of the Interdisciplinary Studies Program is the Capstone Sequence in which students demonstrates their ability to integrate the various facets of their degree program.  Taken during the senior year, students identify, develop, and complete a capstone project that exemplifies their mastery of their individual area of concentration and their understanding of how this focus fits into a wider interdisciplinary context.  By doing so, the capstone project provides a stepping stone for our graduates to achieve their next educational, professional, and career objectives.

In addition to their capstone experience, students can also pursue internships that enable them to integrate their academic studies with their professional goals.
