Open Letter from President Bjong Wolf Yeigh

I wish to reaffirm the college’s philosophy and policy concerning affirmative action and equal employment opportunity.

Since its beginning, SUNY Institute of Technology has been committed to policies of non-discrimination, affirmative action, and equal employment opportunity. SUNYIT’s initial Affirmative Action Plan was published in 1974. At that time, appropriate guidelines and procedures were established and followed accordingly, before any practices contrary to the basic tenets of equal employment opportunity could surface.

SUNYIT is committed to selecting the best qualified staff without discrimination against individuals on the basis of a disability, unrelated to job requirements, race, religion, creed, national origin, age, color, veteran status, marital status, or sexual orientation.

As a primary tenet, SUNYIT embraces diversity of thought, culture, gender, age and ethnicity. SUNYIT’s policy on Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity complies with the letter as well as the spirit of law, thus supporting the values of this educational community.
