Health & Wellness Services
The SUNYIT Health & Wellness Center provides short term, episodic health care services for SUNYIT students during the academic year (fall & spring semesters).
As indicated on our website:
The following services are available to all full-time and part-time students who provide a copy of their completed Health History and Physical Examination Report (completed within the last 2 years) to the Health and Wellness Center:
- Sick and Injury Care
- Physician/Nurse-Practitioner Visits
- Vaccines (including influenza, MMR, etc.)
- Prescription and Over-the-Counter Medications
- Health Counseling
- Health Literature/Health Education
- Medical Equipment and Supplies (cold/flu packs, band-aids, cough drops, crutches, etc.)
- Blood Pressure Monitoring
- Birth Control (pills through prescription, free male and female condoms, lubricant, dental dams, etc.)
- Referrals/Consultations with Local Specialists and student’s Primary Care Provider
- Registered Dietitian (Tuesdays 5:30 to 9 PM, by appointment only)
- Smoking Cessation Counseling and Free Nicotine Replacement Therapy (patch)
- HIV Testing (Oraquick Rapid Advance HIV 1/2 Test, 20 minute results)
- Routine GYN Exams
- Lab Work
- Testing for Sexually Transmitted Infections
- Web Based Health Information
Clinical services are provided by a physician (part-time), Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses. Non-clinical services are provided by a Health Educator and/or Registered Dietitian.
If you have your own insurance, you can still utilize the Health and Wellness Center because you have paid the Health Fee.
