When the Urge to Smoke Strikes, Remember the 5 D's:
Delay the urge to smoke, it will pass
Drink water to fight off cravings
Do something else to distract yourself. . .walk, call a friend, clean a closet, etc.
Deep breathe to relax you. Close your eyes & take 10 slow deep breaths
Discuss your thoughts & feelings with a friend or counselor
