- Create a login ID and PIN number to access the online application. Your PIN must be six numbers.
Be sure to write this down as you will need it for the following: • If you choose to pay the $60 application fee online, you will use your login ID as the "SUNYIT Student ID Number" on the e-cashier payment page. • To log back in as a returning user, you will need your original login ID and PIN number.
- Select an application type:
• US Citizen/Permanent Residents: this application type is primarily for US citizens or permanent residents of the US who do not have to apply for a visa to study at SUNYIT. • International (Requiring Visa): this application type is for non-US citizens and applicants wishing to apply for a visa through SUNYIT.
- Select the term that you would like to apply for and fill in your legal name. International applicants, please submit your name exactly as it appears on your passport.
- Click the “Fill Out Application” button. This will bring you to the “Application Checklist” page which outlines the various sections of the application for admission. Begin submitting your information.
- Please note that you can go back to the various sections after you have already completed them to make any additional changes before officially submitting the application.
- Once you have completed each section, click on “Application is Complete.”
- Your options for paying the non-refundable $60 application fee will be displayed. You will have the option of paying the fee online (either via credit card or automatic payment from your checking or savings account) or you can pay by check (payable to SUNYIT) which must be received within 10 business days.
- The final step in the application process is the submission of your supplemental application materials.
Depending on the program that you’re applying to, you will need to submit one or more of the following materials: • Educational objective statement (pdf) • Reference letters (pdf) • Assistantship application (optional) (pdf) • Diversity Fellowship application (pdf) (optional for domestic students only) • Official transcripts • GMAT or GRE score reports • Resume
International applicants must also submit: • TOEFL or IELTS score reports • FSA-4 Financial Form (pdf) • Bank statement showing proof of at least $25,500
The first 4 documents are available as fillable forms which can be submitted via e-mail to gradcenter@sunyit.edu, or can be printed and mailed to: SUNYIT Graduate Center, 100 Seymour Road, Utica, NY 13502.
- Upon receipt of your application, the Graduate Center will notify you of the required supplemental materials for the program you have applied to.
