Admissions Requirements

MS Telecommunications

Admissions Criteria
To be considered for admission, all applicants to the MS Telecommunications program must possess a baccalaureate degree with an upper division major in telecommunications, engineering, engineering technology, computer science, photonics, business or a related area from an accredited college or university. Applicants must generally have an average of B or better (a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 point scale).

A GRE General Test score of at least 1100 over the quantitative and verbal reasoning portions of the exam is generally required for consideration.  International students requiring the TOEFL or IELTS must score at least 680 on the quantitative portion of the exam. 

For applicants taking the GRE Revised General Test, scores presented must fall within approximately the same percentile performance as those who took the exam prior to August 1, 2011.  International applicants will require a quantitative score of at least 153 on the Revised General Test.

Applicants not meeting the above admission criteria will be considered on an individual basis.

Applicants with deficiencies in math, computer science/information systems, business or telecommunications may be required to take appropriate pre-requisite coursework beyond the 33 graduate credit hours required for the MS program.  Required pre-requisite coursework will be identified at the time of admission and will be built into the student's plan of study.
