Admissions Requirements
MS Family Nurse Practitioner
The full-time MS FNP program is only available to students applying for FALL admission; students wishing to begin their studies in the spring must pursue the part-time option.
Admissions Criteria
All applicants to the MS Family Nurse Practitioner program must possess a baccalaureate degree with a major in nursing from an NLNAC or CCNE accredited program with a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for the last 30 hours of undergraduate or graduate level coursework.
Applicants must currently be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State and must have completed a minimum of one year's work experience as a professional nurse.
Applicants must demonstrate successful completion of a course in descriptive statistics.
Applicants must have successfully completed an undergraduate health assessment course within five years of registering for NUR 566.

To apply for admission to the MS Family Nurse Practitioner program, please submit the following materials to the SUNYIT Graduate Center:
- Completed Application for Graduate Admission with a $60 application fee
- Official transcript(s) from colleges previously attended reflecting completion of a BS in nursing
- Two professional letters of reference
- Educational objective statement (typed)
- Resume
- Completed Application for Graduate Assistantship (optional)
