What materials must be submitted to properly file a graduate application?
Required admissions documents vary by program. Please go to Admissions Requirements to view a list of required documents by program.
Am I required to take a GRE or GMAT exam?
The GRE exam is required for application to the following programs:
- Advanced Technology
- Computer Science
- Telecommunications

The GMAT exam is required for application to the following programs:

What does it cost to apply for Graduate Admission?
There is a non-refundable $60 application fee.
Is there an application deadline?
Application deadlines are as follows:
- August 1 for fall admission
- December 1 for spring admission
These are firm deadline dates which will allow for the timely processing of financial aid and course registration.
When will I know if I’m accepted for admission?
For a fall start, notification of admission begins in January and continues until August 15. For a spring start, notification begins in October and continues until December 15.
What documents are required for international applicants?

Can I apply for GOP (Graduate Opportunity Program) admissions?
SUNYIT offers the GOP program to a limited number of incoming graduate students. Applicants must meet academic, as well as financial criteria, and must have been enrolled in the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) as an undergraduate student. For more information, please contact the SUNYIT Special Programs office at (315) 792-7805.
Is there a tuition deposit?
Full-time domestic graduate students must submit a $50 deposit, along with their completed “Enrollment Confirmation Card” to secure a place in the incoming class. Part-time students are not required to submit a monetary deposit, but must return the completed “Enrollment Confirmation Card.”
Full-time international graduate students must submit a $300 deposit, along with their completed "Enrollment Confirmation Form" by the date outlined in their acceptance letter.
How do I register for classes?
All new graduate students will have the opportunity to participate in an online OR an on-campus course selection/orientation session. Course registration will take place at the conclusion of one of these sessions. Details regarding these options are mailed to new students.
Can I complete a course before I formally apply for admission?
Prospective students can apply to complete select coursework as a non-matriculated student before they are required to be admitted into a degree program. A maximum of 6 credit hours is recommended for non-degree study, but select programs may allow completion of up to 12 credit hours. Submit the Non-Matriculated Application for consideration.
