Admission Requirements
Generally, freshman applicants should carry at least a B/B+ average in a college-preparatory program and have achieved an SAT score in the 1000-1100 range (or approximately a 22-24 composite ACT score). Admission is based on high school average, SAT or ACT scores, strength of coursework and other relevant supplemental information. All applicants are reviewed on an individual basis. Early DecisionTo apply early decision, an online application must be submitted on or before November 1. A paper application must be postmarked by November 1. Applications must be complete by November 15. If your application is complete by November 15, we will notify you of our decision by December 15. If you are accepted Early Decision, you will be asked to make a tuition deposit by January 15 and to withdraw your application to all other colleges.Educational Opportunity Program(EOP)(Available for New York residents only) This program is designed for students who need special academic assistance as well as financial aid. SUNYIT’s Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) provides academic support and financial aid to students who show promise for mastering college-level work, but who may otherwise not be admitted. Offered only to full-time students who are New York State residents, EOP accepts students who qualify, academically and financially, for the program. NOTE: You cannot apply for both EOP and Early Decision.Eligibility To be eligible for admission to EOP you must be:
Special Talent AdmissionsSUNYIT will also consider applicants who possess or have exhibited considerable talent in areas of academic, the arts, leadership, technology, or varsity athletics, but who do not otherwise meet the general admission criteria. Upon request, you may have your special talent reviewed by the admissions staff, faculty, athletic coaches, or other appropriate individuals. Contact the Admissions Office for more information. |
