Student Life FAQs
Can I have a car on campus?
Yes, freshmen can have cars on campus, and parking is convenient to
classrooms and residence hall facilities. The parking fee is
approximately $60/semester for full-time students, and $30/semester for
part-time students.

How do students get to and from campus and around town?
For most campus-sponsored events, free bus or van transportation is provided on a space-available basis.
Bus service is available on campus to and from local destinations.
Amtrak and Greyhound service is available to and from the city of Utica
and air travel is provided through Hancock International Airport in
Syracuse or Albany International Airport in Albany.
What are the options for food in the residence halls?
Resident students are required to purchase a meal plan and non-residents
may also opt to purchase a meal plan. Options include all you can eat
14 or 19 meals per week with additional points. In addition, our food service provider, Sodexo also offers several options in block plans to students.
Sodexho provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday-Friday, and
brunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday. The Basement Bistro, ‘Cats’
Den and Kunsela Cafe are also open staggered hours for a meal or quick
snack using the additional points from your meal plan.
Items such as cereal, milk, bread and other snacks can be purchased at the campus bookstore with cash, check, or credit card.
What if I get sick?
The Health and Wellness Center
offers a wide range of health care services including routine health
care, physician and nurse practitioner visits, health counseling,
medications, blood pressure monitoring, referral information and much
more. Also, there are three hospitals within 10 minutes of the campus.
Is there a job placement service or career day?
Career Services
provides a wide range of career planning and employment resources as
well as a variety of workshops on resume writing, interviewing, and
graduate school planning; The Resume Expert Plus computer software
allows students to professionally create a resume. An annual Career
Fair, which hosts over 100 companies, is held each October.
