Job Title:  Office Assistant
Department:  Communications & Humanities, Science & Math, Social & Behavioral Science

The primary responsibility for students working in the Academic Offices of Engineering, Science & Math (ESM), Communications & Humanities (C&H) and Social & Behavioral Science (SBS) is to provide support for day to day operations and special projects.  We seek candidates who are dependable, motivated, and possess excellent customer service skills.  Confidentiality in the office is an absolute must.  Knowledge of and/or experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is highly desirable.

Student Assistants will perform such tasks as working on various types of faculty projects, filing, basic help with mail sorting, greeting visitors to the office, assisting with telephone reception, and other general office duties.  Student Assistant support is most important in accomplishing projects and office tasks in a timely manner.

 

Job Title:  Classroom Technology/Audio-Visual Assistant
Department:  Instructional Resources

Delivery, setting up, testing, operation and picking up of classroom technology/audio-visual equipment in various campus buildings.  Minor electro-mechanical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of media/technology equipment.  Updating scheduling and delivery records.  Assisting users with the interconnection and operation of various types of classroom technology equipment including multimedia projection, notebook computers, sound reinforcement, videotape and DVD playback.  Occasional office coverage to include answering phones, serving customers, taking equipment/service requests from faculty, staff, and students for classroom and off-campus of equipment.  Occasional assisting in the production of instructional media including camera operation.  Using portable video camera and tripod to record presentations in classrooms and other locations.  Setting up microphones, screens, projection and lighting equipment.

Skills required:  being able to work with little supervision and having good oral and written communication skills.  Familiarity with computer hardware, peripheral devices, and computer software.  Basic electrical and mechanical skills.  Knowledge of video, audio, microphones, projection, and sound reinforcement equipment.  Basic radio/TV production skills using video and still cameras.

  

Job Title: Office Assistant

Individual will be responsible for accurately entering parking ticket information into an Excel spreadsheet and filing paperwork relating to tickets. Will also be asked to enter other information into databases as requested and file paperwork in alphabetical or chronological order. On occasion, the individual will be requested to answer University Police phones and the College switchboard.

 

Job Title:  Student Dispatcher
Department:  University Police

Receives complaints from public concerning crimes, police emergencies, and calls for service; relays and records police and fire alarms, intradepartmental calls and emergency calls; broadcasts orders to police patrol units to investigate complaints or incidents and relays instructions and/or questions; prepares and maintains a variety of logs, records and reports of all incoming and outgoing communications; utilizes several computer systems to assist and maintain the safety of the college community.  Monitors CCTV’s for suspicious activity; operates the College switchboard.
