Merit Scholarships
SUNYIT is committed to acknowledging academic achievement through our merit scholarship program. Scholarship criteria include academic achievement as well as supplemental information such as an applicant's essay, letters of reference, and extracurricular activities. Scholarship candidates will be selected from the top ranks of admitted freshmen.
Those seeking merit scholarships should submit a supplemental application and complete the admission application by February 1. Available scholarship funds are limited and distributed among a competitive applicant pool based on acceptance date. Scholarship opportunities may not be available for students applying after February 1.
The following freshman academic merit scholarship amounts were awarded:
- $4,500
- $3,000
- $2,000
- $1,000
These scholarships are renewable annually provided recipients meet renewal requirements and full-time status at SUNYIT. Currently 20% of our entering freshman students receive an academic merit award.
*Awards also include a residential portion which requires recipients to live on-campus to receive full award amount.
