First Source Scholarship - $1,000
Application Deadline: May 1, 2013
Founded as Utica Teachers’ FCU, First Source understands and appreciates the value of local educational system. True to their educational roots, First Source's objective is to promote local schools and offer aid to students in achieving their educational goals. In 2013 First Source will award one $1,000 scholarship per school to students planning on continuing their education in the fall to one of six local colleges (including SUNYIT).

Nursing/Health Information Management Scholarship
Application deadline: May 2013
If you will finish your degree or certificate program no later than May 2013, live in Oneida, Herkimer, Madison, Chenango, Otsego, or Delaware counties, and have expenses not fully covered by other sources of funding, you could get up to $1,000 to pay for tuition, fees, books, uniforms, travel to school, child care, and more. Eligible programs: BS/Nursing; BS/SUNYIT-St. Elizabeth College of Nursing Partnership; BS/Health Information Management; MS/Family Nurse Practitioner; MS/Nursing Education; Certificate of Advanced Studies/Family Nurse Practitioner; Certificate of Advanced Studies/Nursing Education.

Civil Engineering Scholarship

The Associated General Contractors New York State Scholarship Application is open to any student who lives in the state of New York and studies Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, Construction Management or Diesel Technology. Applications are available at http://www.agcnys.org/program/scholarship. The AGC NYS Scholarship committee has awarded over $969,000 in scholarships since 1988 and average close to 20 scholarships every year ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 each.

To be eligible for the Sedary & Associates scholarship, a student must: be between the ages of 16-22 on the day your application is due; be enrolled in a college, university, trades or technical school by no later than the Fall of 2013; and submit an essay answering the following question. Essay question: there are many things a student must consider when choosing a college or university to attend. Thermo Fisher Scientific Graduate and Undergraduate Biology Scholarship

The Thermo Scientific Pierce Scholarship Program for the Fall 2013 semester includes two (2) $10,000 scholarships and four (4) $5,000 scholarships, to be awarded to undergraduate and graduate students with a declared major of biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related life-science field. To qualify for the scholarship, students must have a GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and be enrolled in an accredited college for university for the Fall 2013 semester. In addition to these qualifications, students must also be legal United States residents, meaning that students possessing appropriate Visa status in order to study in the United States are also eligible.
Students may apply for the scholarship through the Thermo Scientific Pierce Scholarship Website. Applications will be accepted until 11:59:59 p.m. CT on July 31, 2013. Each application will be reviewed and evaluated by a scholarship committee and announced to the chosen recipients by August 16, 2013. We strongly encourage all students that meet the scholarship award criteria to apply for this great scholarship! FIRST Scholarship - Up to $5,000
Application Deadline: February 1 (scholarship materials & FAFSA deadline)
FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and SUNYIT have established a scholarship to help deserving students who have been part of a high school FIRST team and would like to attend SUNYIT. SUNYIT will award up to 10 merit scholarships each fall to high school seniors and junior college transfers who have been a member of a FIRST Robotics (FRC) or FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team at their high schools. Recipients of this scholarship will receive up to $5,000 per year for four years upon enrollment at SUNYIT.
