Each year, the Zonta Club of the Oneida Area awards the Mildred Ridley Scholarship Award to a woman enrolled in a post-secondary program with a goal to enter or re-enter the work force. This award is aimed at non-traditional students, those women who are going back to school to improve their lives and/or the lives of their families. Women eligible to apply for the Mildred Ridley Awards must: (a) be at least half way through their educational program; (b) have an overall average of "C" or better; and (c) be residents of or attennd school within the Canastota, Oneida, Stockbridge Valley, or Vernon Verona Sherrill school districts. To be eligible for the Sedary & Associates scholarship, a student must: be between the ages of 16-22 on the day your application is due; be enrolled in a college, university, trades or technical school by no later than the Fall of 2013; and submit an essay answering the following question. Essay question: there are many things a student must consider when choosing a college or university to attend. In under 1,500 words, identify the 5 most important things that you believe every student should consider when making his/her choice. Please ensure to explain WHY you believe each is important.

The annual scholarship is for a deserving student athlete. The successful applicant will be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution or in the community.

To be eligible for the LPE scholarship you must be either: a current senior in high school or a freshman or sophomore in college/university; be a legal resident of the United States or Canada; be enrolled or expected to be enrolled by the Fall of 2013; and submit a completed online application form prior to the deadline.

Candidates must be residents (based on their home address, which must be used on the application) of the Rome City School District which includes Rome and portions of the following townships: Annsville, Ana, Camden, Lee, Verona, Western, and Westmoreland. Students who graduated from the Rome Free Academy or Rome Catholic School who live in the Room City School District are eligible, as are students who may have graduated from another high school in another city and since have moved to Rome and now reside in the Rome City School District. If you are uncertain if you live in the Rome City School District, check with the owner of the property to determine if property taxes are paid to the Rome City School District. All applicants will be reviewed in light of the following criteria: academic performance, financial need, community service, motivation for pursuing chosen field of study/career, and additional criteria specific to this award. Completed applications must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office on or before July 1, 2014 for consideration. Undergraduate students only.

This scholarship is a collaboration between Liberty Power and the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) Foundation. This alliance is focused on providing tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships annually to eligible college students pursing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education with an interest in seeking careers in the fields of energy or the environment. A total of four scholarships will be awarded valued at $10,000, $5,000, $3,000, and $2,000. Students must be currently enrolled in an accredited two or four-year university and have an interest in the field of energy or the environment. The NYS Stem Incentive Program provides a full SUNY or CUNY tuition scholarship for the top 10 percent of students in each NYS high school if they pursue a STEM degree in an associates or bachelor degree program and agree to work in a STEM field in NYS for 5 years after graduation.
