Frequently Asked Questions

What is CSTEP?

CSTEP is a New York State grant-funded initiative that focuses on academic, career and graduate school preparation. In 1986, the New York State Legislature passed an amendment to provide funding for the introduction of CSTEP. The mission of CSTEP at SUNY Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome is to foster excellence, teach effective long-term career management skills, explore graduate school opportunities, and to create meaningful preprofessional experiences for program participants.
