Institute for Local Government
The Institute for Local Government (ILG) grew out of our involvement in the Digital Towpath Project, which began with a collaboration of CPE personnel and representatives from small towns and villages nearby. The project has allowed us to develop a special relationship with those who serve in local governments across the state.
We recognize the unique challenges you face -- and we offer training and consulting services to make your life easier.
The ILG was integral to the original development of the Digital Towpath Project and continues to support the project now that it is lead by the member municipalities of the Digital Towpath Cooperative. The ILG provides both administrative services and support for the users of the Digital Towpath Project software, DTP V4.0.1.
Digital Towpath now includes not only a sophisticated website content management system but also secure off-site storage of electronic documents and a complete email system. It also allows you to access RPS V4 assessment roll data and seamlessly integrate this information into your municipal website.
By working with the ILG and Digital Towpath, you will increase communication with your residents, safely store public records in electronic format, and provide many government services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, even if your municipal offices are only open a few hours a day. You will also become part of a virtual community where others who do the jobs you do share insights and experiences.
The ILG can help you plan and successfully implement effective technology solutions to make the most of your limited time and resources. Whether you want computer use coursework or knowledgeable, unbiased evaluation of contractor solutions, the ILG can assist you.
