SUNY Board Chairman calls SUNYIT "vitally important" during March 6 visit The Chairman of the State University of New York Board of Trustees, Carl T. Hayden, spent a day on the SUNYIT campus March 6, meeting with students, faculty, staff, and the area\'s business leaders and elected officials. It was the first visit by a SUNY Board Chairman to the Marcy campus.
MBA program rated 13th nationally for quality, affordability SUNYIT\'s online MBA in technology management was rated 13th on a list of 30 "Best Buy MBA" online programs.
Emmy-Winning alum delivers "Persistence conquers resistance" message
Students, faculty, staff, alumni and guests heard a message of inspiration and professional success from Emmy Award-winning producer and broadcaster Nicole Watson \'83 at a February 28 breakfast in SUNYIT\'s Campus Center. The community-wide event was presented by the SUNYIT Alumni Association to mark Black History Month in February and Women’s History Month in March.
Nursing faculty, students travel to Brazil in March to help needy
A team of Mohawk Valley health care professionals, including SUNYIT faculty (some of whom are alumni), and SUNYIT nursing students, traveled to the Amazon River basin in March, on a mission of mercy.
Computer science alum wins international game-developer contest
James Silva \'05 \'07, who tied for first place in Microsoft\'s 2007 Dream-Build-Play contest, received a contract to publish his game "The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai" on Xbox Live Arcade, which was featured at the February 2008 game developers conference.
First ever "Geek Week" held in January by Alumni Association and Student Association
An opening-week celebration different from anything ever seen on a college campus before called "Geek Week" was held January 13-19 to unite all students, faculty/staff, and alumni in various activities celebrating "geek culture," including gaming, robotics, rocketry, entomology, Sci-Fi, and anime.
Inc. Magazine ranks company started by two alumni
Two SUNYIT alumni, Leonard Popyack \'84 and Charles Green \'93, were in the national spotlight this past year when the Rome, N.Y., company they founded was named one of the 500 fastest growing companies in the country.
Criminal justice program launches in 2008
As part of its continuing expansion of academic offerings for both four-year undergraduates and transfer students, SUNYIT launches a new criminal justice major in 2008. The bachelor of science in criminal justice degree program accepted transfer students in the spring 2008 semester, and will accept freshmen starting in fall 2008.

Allen Harrison Jr. \'01 \'04 is named Chair of Alumni Association Advisory Board (AAAB)
In addition to serving as AAAB Chair, Allen Harrison Jr. \'01 \'04 is serving as the Alumni Association representative to both the College Council and SUNYIT Presidential Search Committee. The names of AAAB members and other information for alumni is posted in the Alumni section of the SUNYIT website.
