My Winter Break (Part 1)
Over the next few weeks I will be posting every other day or so to get you caught up on my break. I apologize for the lack of posts, but I did not have steady internet access during most of my vacation.
Part 1 (Dec 15-23)
I moved essential stuff from my dorm room back to my home in Liverpool, a suburb of Syracuse, after finishing work on the 15th. I had my last class meeting, the presentation of my Branding final, the night before. One of the nice things about Reslife here at SUNYIT is that you can leave things in your room when you go home on breaks. My first week back in Syracuse was as usual. I got caught up with friends I hadn't seen in a while, worked at Wegmans, and got asked to work on various people's computers. It was nice to get to work at Wegmans again, I had missed most of my coworkers and it was a nice change of pace to be working in the Prepared Foods department again. Also doing some computer work, that I barter my services for home cooked meals, allowed me to get some good food and catch up with some of my friends.
On the 16th I had my "Family" Christmas with my 3 siblings that live in New York. One of my brothers is in the Air Force so he and his family were not there and parents moved to Florida a couple of years ago and were also not there. I will talk about them more in future posts. Overall it was a good time. I got off kind of cheap as we had agreed to buy presents only for the little ones, Jeff's two young boys and my sister's two grandchildren. It was the first time that I got to see the newest edition to the family, my niece's daughter Mallory who was born in October. We had a good ham dinner and watched the kids open their presents. If it wasn't only the 16th and 50 degrees outside it might've actually felt more like Christmas.
On the 19th I went to the Syracuse vs. Drexel basketball game at the Carrier Dome. I went with my brother Jeff and we had a good time even though SU blew a 9 point halftime lead and lost. We had pretty decent seats that I got from stubhub.com for an excellent price.
The rest of the week I worked at Wegmans and did computer repairs. Everything else was pretty uneventful.
To be continued....
