Feds accuse Jerk.com of scraping Facebook, cheating users
The creators of Jerk.com have been scraping information from Facebook to set up over 73 million profiles, alleges the Federal Trade commisision. Jerk.com is a site that allows others to vote on wether the profile subject is a jerk or not. The only way a person may access their profile is to pay a $30 membership fee. While this is may be a dispicable means of commerce, it is questionable as to wether this public domain information is not free for any company to use as they wish. The only thing that is certain is that the creators of Jerk.com are jerks.
