Cheating in the Air Force Academy
An Air Force Academy located in Colorado was recently investigated on suspicion that 40 freshman cadets had cheated in one of their classes. It was thought that the students had copied portions of a chemistry lab assignment. The threat of expulsion didn’t stop these cadets, as it hasn’t in the past. Since 2004, this is the fourth probe of cheating at the academy.
In the past, students have been accused of cheating on calculus and general knowledge exams. Most of the cadets weren’t expelled, but instead placed on probation and given remediation classes to help after accepting responsibility. Probation includes extra work duties and marching requirments. The violators were also required to undergo a month long program to improve their morality.
