Is The Government Responsible for Healthcare Coverage?
A few weeks ago, I posted a blog about the disapproval rating of the President in the eyes of the American Public. This week's blog is related in that we're again talking about health care.
Research data was released in the "global ethics newsline" on whether or not Americans felt as though providing health care was the government's responsibility. Interestingly enough, a seven-year study shows that the public has "flip flopped" on the topic.
In 2006, almost 70% of Americans felt as though it was the responsibility of the government to ensure the public has health care coverage. In 2010, the public was split about 50/50 on the topic. In 2013, almost 60% of Americans feel as though it isn't the responsibility of the government to ensure the public has health care coverage.
It is very interesting that as the government is increasing its involvement in health care, the American Public's interest in having government involvement in health care is decreasing.
