China To Start Mandatory Training In Ethics & Practices For Journalists
I really like this article. The article talks about how China is making a 3-month ethics course mandatory for all journalists who wish to get their journalism license in China. I like this idea, but it also conflicts with an individuals freedom of speech. I understand China is trying to control the garbage that is on the internet and TV, but it also violates basic human rights. I think this is China's way of controlling verbal pollution. They are really starting to crack down on journalists who are reporting corruption. Journalism is an important part of society. It is their job to report to the public important current events that are going on. Unfortunately, not all journalism is ethical or even true. This is an interesting approach to weed out the bad journalism from the good journalism. However, I think this is perhaps to aggressive.
