OGS Commissioner to address May 11 Commencement
The Commissioner of the Office of General Services for the State of New York, RoAnn Destito, will address the class of 2013 at SUNYIT’s 39th annual spring Commencement on May 11.
"We're honored Commissioner Destito will speak to our graduates and their families," said Wolf Yeigh, President of SUNYIT. "Her service to the state, both at OGS and as our Assemblywoman for many years, give her a unique perspective—one that will resonate with everyone at the ceremony."
The first woman to be confirmed as OGS Commissioner, Destito served 19 years in the Assembly, representing the 116th district. During her time in the Assembly, she worked to advance and strengthen the state's procurement practices, opportunities for minority and women-owned businesses, and support for military families.
Commencement will be held Saturday, May 11, 10 a.m., in the Wildcat Field House on the SUNYIT campus in Marcy. A reception for graduates and their guests will be held in the Student Center following the ceremony. More information is available at sunyit.edu/commencement.
